Drug and alcohol addiction are devastating conditions affecting hundreds of people in the St. Louis area. The complications of addiction can be heart wrenching. Addicts often lose their ability function as normal human beings. Families can be torn apart, and once productive individuals have difficulty sustaining meaningful employment. That’s why we’re here.
Harris House provides unique long-term residential alcohol and chemical dependency treatment services. Our certified residential treatment programs offer hope to individuals and families suffering from the disease of chemical dependency.
Treatment at Harris House is the beginning of a new and better way of life. We provide vital exposure to recovery principles, and work to remove barriers that may prevent acceptance of those principles. This is accomplished in a warm, peer-oriented environment, guided by a compassionate, professional staff.
Certified counselors, volunteers from the recovery community and program participants work together as a team to develop individualized treatment reaching goals addressing the person as a whole - body, mind and spirit. Team-based treatment, alcohol and drug education, exposure and participation to vital 12-step programs and the local recovery community are integral parts of our curriculum. Every program that we offer revolves around a common message: No program can be effective without the client taking full ownership of both the treatment and recovery process. It is what we call “Recovery with Responsibility”.
